BIOGRAPHY:

Common, whose real name is Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr., is an American hip-hop artist, poet, actor and activist born on March 13, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois. He is known for his creativity, social commitment and multi-talented talents, which have earned him a prominent place in the entertainment industry.

Common grew up on Chicago's South Side, an area marked by violence and socio-economic hardship. This environment had a profound influence on his music and artistic career. From an early age, he was exposed to poetry and literature thanks to his mother, a teacher. In addition to his musical career, Common has also explored film. He made his acting debut in "Brown Sugar" (2002), followed by roles in acclaimed films such as "Smokin' Aces" (2006), "American Gangster" (2007) and "Selma" (2014). His acting talent has earned him several nominations and awards, including an Oscar for Best Original Song for the song "Glory" from the film "Selma".

Common is also a committed activist. He is a fervent defender of civil rights, social justice and education. He uses his notoriety to raise awareness of issues affecting marginalized communities and to encourage positive change.
