BIOGRAPHY:
Nicole Beharie was born in Florida, went to Orangeburg Wilkinson High School in Southern California, and graduated from the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts & Humanities in 2003. Then she went to The Juilliard School to study art and theater. She obtained a scholarship to study in England.
She began her film career in 2008 with the excellent film American Violet, in which she played the lead role alongside Alfre Woodard. The same year, she played a supporting role in the drama The Express with the actor Rob Brown.
