Jordin Sparks was born in Phoenix, Arizona. She is the daughter of Jodi Weidmann and Phillippi Sparks, a former American soccer player on two famous teams the New York Giants (1992 - 1999) and the Dallas Cowboys (2000), who retired on August 28, 2000. Jordin has a younger brother, Phillippi "PJ" Sparks Jr. For a short time, the family lived in Orchard Place, Ridgewood, New Jersey where Sparks went to school (Orchard School). Some of her former teachers who still teach there support her. Currently, the family lives in Glendale, Arizona. Sparks is homeschooled. After living in New Jersey, attended Sparks Northwest Community Christian School in Phoenix through the eighth grade.Jordin Sparks attended Sandra Day O'Connor High School until 2006, when she was home schooled to better focus on her singing. Jordin Sparks is a Christian and attends Calvary Community Church in Phoenix. On her American Idol biography, she thanks her parents and God for her victory. She won an award for Arizona's best young artist of the year for three years. |
