BIOGRAPHY:
His career began at the age of 8. He became known in 1983, when he appeared in the Broadway musical The Tap Dance Kid, where he received positive reviews for his performance, and was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award.
In 1984, Alfonso appeared alongside Michael Jackson as a dancer in the Pepsi television commercial. During the same year, and until 1987, he played in the series Ricky or the Beautiful Life.
In 1985, he appeared in his own name in an MTV commercial promoting his book "Alfonso's breakin' & poppin' book".
His most notable role is that of Carlton Banks, one of the main characters in the series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air from 1990 to 1996. He plays the cousin of Will Smith. He is the director of several episodes.
