Synopsis:
Chris Rock released a little gem in 2009, a documentary on the African-American hair industry and its flagship product: straightening. He tries to explain the historical origins of the vision of African-Americans on their hair capital: why when it’s straightened it’s beautiful and when it’s frizzy it’s ugly? What is the power of this multi-million dollar industry worldwide? It will even go to the ends of the earth to find the raw material used in wigs and weaves.
