Born on December 1, 1985 in Kansas City, USA, Janelle Monáe Robinson grew up in the Texas capital until she finished her studies. Passionate about dance and singing, she gives herself the means to achieve her ambitions by attending classes at the Academy of Musical Arts in New York and then seeks a position in Broadway musicals. Dissatisfied with the roles proposed, the young artist moved to Atlanta in order to devote herself to a musical career. The meeting with Big Boi, half of OutKast, is beneficial to him.
