BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Queens, New York, he is the son of Eve, a nurse, and Adam Johnson, a hospital employee. His father left the family when he was 13, and his mother remarried John Reilly. He graduated from New York University with a B.A. in art.
Reginald VelJohnson is known for playing police officers in numerous films (policeman in Die Hard (1988) and Turner and Hooch (1989), prison guard in Ghostbusters (1984), limousine driver in Crocodile Dundee (1986)). From 1989 to 1998, he played the role of Carl Winslow, a family policeman in Family Life.
He has also appeared in a number of TV series, including Equalizer, Diagnosis: Murder, Crossroads, Will & Grace, Monk, CSI, Eve, Evidence, Phenomenon Raven, Chuck (reprise of Al Powell's character), and Bones.
