Nacido el: 06 Nov 1972 , Londres  -
Nacida en Zambia, de padre inglés y madre zimbabuense, Thandie Newton abandonó su tierra natal a los cuatro años a causa de los disturbios políticos en el país. Viviendo en Inglaterra, desarrolló su gusto por la danza y la comedia a través de clases en la Escuela de Educación Artística de Londres, y luego se lanzó al cine en 1991 con la comedia dramática Flirteo, en la que interpreta a una joven ugandesa matriculada en un internado de estilo hotelero junto a una Nicole Kidman aún principiante. Incapacitada por su acento inglés, Thandie Newton luchó por conseguir nuevos papeles y volvió a estudiar, licenciándose en Antropología en la Universidad de Cambridge. Pero el cine la atrapa rápidamente y diversifica al máximo sus papeles. Víctima en Entrevista con un vampiro (1994), esclava y amante de Nick Nolte en Jefferson en París (1995), también es una cantante drogadicta en Gridlock'd (1997). Fue al interpretar el papel femenino principal en Misión: Imposible 2, en el que interpretaba a una seductora ladrona, cuando el rostro de la joven se hizo familiar para el gran público. |
