Né le: 19 Sep 1971 , New York  -
L'ainée de cinq enfants, Sanaa Lathan est née a New York d'un père réalisateur et producteur et d'une mere danseuse de profession. Intéressee au début par le métier d'avocat, elle s'inscrit à l'université de Californie a Berkeley tout en continuant a jouer au sein du Black Theatre Worshop. Elle obtient son bac d'anglais et abandonne ses études de droit pour décrocher une maitrise aux beaux-arts de Yale School of Drama. Puis retourne a New York pour se perfectionner ou elle parait dans des productions hors Broadway et de théatre local. Elle accumule une vaste expérience jusqu'en 1996 ou elle s'installe a Los Angeles et enchaine les séries Tv : "New York Police Blues", "Family matters", "In the house" "Moesha" et en 1997 le court metrage de son frere Tendaji "The smoker". |
